Sweet New Boots

Ike and i went over to Katie/Colton's house for a playdate with Jess/Leah and Dhyana/Avi.  We left with 3 pairs of new to ike shoes and new cowboy boots.  Ike was in heaven and refused to take them off, he was pissed that i made him take them off for bathtime, lol

Friday was just a shitastic day in general.  I was in a funk and sent a goofy pic to my girlfriend Mandy...i kinda like it.  I'd probably make it my FB profile pic, but i could see several PMs from family members getting all butthurt and offended, lol.

Kelly's Visit!!

So Kelly is my boss, but she's also one of my closest friends :)  She had to come down for work, but extended her trip a little so we could hang out for the weekend , yay me!  We had a great time (well at least i had a great time, lol).  Dinner at Nikki's and then a fabulous dinner at Silver Fox (omg creme brulee).  Then margarita hour at Baja and a trip to the Stockyard's.  Saturday we went to check out downtown Dallas and the Sixth Floor Museum (JFK) and then to Grapevine for a little window shopping, dinner at Shogun and then finally home.  Time went back quickly and hopefully we'll be able to spend more time doing fun stuff and not so much work ;)

Ike and i had our friend's Liz and Sara come over for dinner, so after our lunch playdate, we stopped at the grocery store for last minute dinner items.  As we're leaving, some chick backs in to my car. :(  Joy /red font

Grave Digger!!

Ike is obsessed with all things transportation related, especially monster trucks, lol.  So Jim got tickets for the 3 of us to go.  Ike was scared at first because during the National Anthem they set off fireworks and that freaked him out, but then he had some popcorn and chilled out, lol.  Jim also thought it would be good to give ike Pepsi and cotton candy...sigh, lol.  Thankfully even with all the extra caffeine and sugar, ike passed out before we left the parking lot, lol.

BFF's

I love that my BFF's son and ike are such good buddies :)  We met up at the park for a little playtime for the boys, but it was SO cold that we didn't get to stay nearly as long as we would have liked :(

Chef Ike

Ike's friend Sara had outgrown her play kitchen and thoughtfully gave it to ike :)  I went out and got some play food and cooking utensils at TRU using up the gift cards we received for Christmas.  He LOVED it, right away decided he was making dinner and hasn't stopped "cooking" since.

Felt like Spring!

The high for the day was 81* or something ridiculous like that and since i was getting ike after almost a week of not seeing him, i was super excited to take him to the park.  I got ike a soccer ball over the weekend, so i made sure to pack snacks and the soccer ball in the car before i went to work.  Then after work i hauled ass to ike's school :)  We had so much fun, i missed my little dude...

Not much to talk about

Ike's been with his dad since last Friday...i miss him like crazy and am feeling very antisocial as a result, lol.  I get him back tomorrow and have a very full/fun weekend planned, including playdates and a monster truck show Saturday night :)

So ike's latest thing is that he is an animal of some sort, so far he seems to stick to being an alligator, hippo or puppy, lol.  Had to start our morning in our alligator cave <3 Love this boy!

Happy Birthday Lex!

My best friend is not in to surprises...or movies, but eff it.  J (Lex's hubs) and a group of girlfriends decided J would take Lex to the movies and he would drop her off at Catina Laredo where us girls would surprise her with dinner...and a Keurig, lol.  It was SO nice to have a girls nite and to celebrate with Lex xo

My dad and stepmom got ike a bike for Christmas.  He LOVES his bike and is constantly asking to ride it.  I had some tire issues Monday morning, so i stopped by Jimmy's after work and picking up ike.  Jimmy checked out the tires on the car and ike rode his bike.  He was in heaven, lol.

Sick Day

Sick day with ike, so what's a mom to do?  Make Puppy Chow of course...

i'm gonna be so pissed at myself 5 pounds from now.

And so it begins...

So, long story made short: I decided in December that it was best for Jim and i to separate.  We both want the very best for ike and are working hard together so that this is as easy on him as possible.  I rented an apartment fairly close to the house, so now ike has a "big house" and a "little house".  Jim and i actually get along better now than we have in years, kinda funny how that happens.  So that's it in a nutshell.  We're better off as friends.

I'm not quite sure what this blog will be yet.  I don't know if it's something i will eventually make private so that i can feel like i can express myself more freely, or if i'll leave it public and not really give a shit about what anyone else thinks or says...i'll let yall know :)
